Description
What It Is:
This is an educational worksheet titled 'Get dress for the weather'. It features two thermometers, one showing 39°C (hot) and the other 10°C (cold). The worksheet asks 'When it's hot, I wear...' and 'When it's cold, I wear...'. Below are images of different clothing items including a swimsuit, skirt, socks, hoodie, shorts, glasses, shirt, scarf, and sweater. There is also a cartoon turkey holding a sign that says 'Thanksgiving Day'.
Grade Level Suitability:
Suitable for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and possibly 1st grade. The activity is simple, involving matching clothing items to appropriate weather conditions. The vocabulary is basic and the visual aids are clear.
Why Use It:
This worksheet helps children learn about weather conditions and appropriate clothing choices. It improves vocabulary related to clothing and weather, and develops critical thinking skills by associating items with the correct weather. It also subtly introduces the concept of temperature.
How to Use It:
Students can either draw lines connecting the clothing items to the correct weather condition (hot or cold), or they can cut out the clothing images and glue them in the appropriate spaces next to the temperature readings. They can also verbally explain their choices.
Target Users:
Preschoolers, kindergartners, and early elementary students learning about weather, seasons, and clothing. ESL students can also benefit from learning new vocabulary.
