Information
Description
What It Is:
This is a worksheet designed to help students identify what they can and cannot control. It features a large circle in the center of the page. The instructions direct students to draw or write inside the circle what they can control, and outside the circle what they cannot control. The title asks 'What is inside & outside of your control?'
Grade Level Suitability:
This worksheet is suitable for grades 3-8. The concept of control can be complex, but the visual representation of the circle makes it accessible. It can be adapted for younger students with guidance, and used for more in-depth discussions with older students.
Why Use It:
This worksheet helps students develop self-awareness and emotional regulation skills. It encourages them to differentiate between aspects of their lives they can influence and those they cannot, promoting a sense of empowerment and reducing anxiety about uncontrollable situations.
How to Use It:
Provide students with the worksheet and writing/drawing materials. Explain the concept of things they can and cannot control. Have them brainstorm ideas and then draw or write these ideas inside and outside the circle, following the instructions provided on the worksheet.
Target Users:
This worksheet is ideal for elementary and middle school students, counselors, teachers, and parents looking to help children develop emotional intelligence and coping mechanisms. It's also suitable for social-emotional learning activities.
